ENCOURAGE & CONNECT

Power of 100 - Red Wing members are asked to reach out to local organizations to encourage them to apply! All organizations are required to submit the Impact Award Application and appropriate supporting documents. The Power of 100 - Red Wing Board of Directors then reviews the first 15 applications and board members vote for three organizations to present at the Impact Event.

VOTING

At the Impact Award Event, the top three organizations each give a ten-minute presentation about their mission, vision, and impact in the local community. Following each presentation, three minutes are given to members to ask questions of the presenting organization. Members then vote individually for the organization they would like to receive the Impact Award. The winner of the majority of votes receives the Impact Award.

Red Wing Area Food Shelf

Our mission is to secure and distribute nutritious food to individuals and households in need.

Our food shelf operates on a choice model, allowing neighbors to select the items that best suit their families. This approach not only respects their preferences but also promotes dignity and self-sufficiency.

By providing more nutritious and fresh produce, we can positively impact the health and well-being of the families we serve. In 2024, we assisted an average of 800 families per month. The addition of this cooler would enable us to offer an even greater variety of produce, making a substantial difference in the lives of these families.

We are deeply committed to supporting our community, and this cooler would play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission of providing nutritious food to those in need.

Hope Coalition

HOPE Coalition (HOPE) works with ordinary people facing extraordinary trauma. HOPE is the sole resource for people facing domestic violence and sexual assault in Goodhue and Wabasha Counties and a primary resource for those needing basic needs met in our coverage area. When they come to us, they feel frightened, confused, and alone, and they’re looking for assistance and guidance as they rebuild their lives. We step in: We restore hope and help rebuild lives.

FAITH IN ACTION

Red Wing’s Faith in Action is a nonprofit that seeks to enrich the lives of our area's 65+ community. Our main program is transportation because losing the ability to drive doesn't mean losing the ability to live. Providing free transportation takes the pressure and stress off of our recipients as well as  their loved ones.

Recently we have had requests from younger people, many in need of the food shelf, helping us identify another demographic and need. We also make visits and calls to those wanting more social interaction, and we have a book house call program in partnership with our library.
